let's build a house.

Friday, March 30, 2012
husband and i just started to build our dream home. we have been talking about building for months, and it all has fallen into place. the perfect lot became available, and after much discussion and prayer we decided to jump on it.

the lots behind us and to the left are unbuildable so all those trees you see are here to stay. you should see what they look like in the spring when they are lush.

back in the fall husband sketched out the basis of downstairs and we brought it to do drawing board. our architect designed an unbelievable plan just for us, and we can't wait to see it come to life.

more updates to come as the house progresses!

almost 8 months ago today (minus a few days), i married the man of my dreams. as cliche as that sounds it's true. by some crazy chance i met the most amazing guy on the beach in FL two years ago this summer, and a year ago he asked me to marry him at the exact place we met. we decided that are only choice was to get married there as well. after all, it was where it all began. he is my very best friend, and i feel so blessed that God placed him in my life. i know we met not by coincidence, but by God's perfect timing.

i love doing life with you. xoxo

... more wedding stuff to come.

buzz around the world.

i'll admit.. i (like everyone else across the globe) is obsessed with the hunger games. usually when a book becomes a huge phenomenon i object at first. for example, i didn't read harry potter until there were 4 books out, and i was also late in the twilight saga. i finally gave into to the hunger game hype and received the book for valentines from sweet husband. after a few chapters i was hooked!

we saw the movie this saturday, and i will say it did not disappoint. it was extremely well done and the cast was exceptional. i feel like the book is usually so much better than their movie counterparts, but i felt like it was phenomenal. i still love the book more, but it was amazing.

if you have yet to see it, head to the closest theatre asap! seriously it's a must see.

pretty for a monday.

i was on pinterest the other night, and i came across this table setting from a wedding. we are in the early stages of building a new house. by early i mean that the foundation is almost completely finished, and we should start framing some time this week.

with that said, we have, in my opinion, the best lot in our neighborhood (at least we think so). the land directly behind us and to the right of us is unbuildable, so we have a beautiful view of trees and our own little mini forest. i plan on having lots of dinner parties on the edge of the woods that look just like this.

this past weekend i went to the flea market to try to snatch up some of these vintage pretties in green, turquoise and cognac but sadly left empty handed. the house won't be ready until the fall, so i have some time to track them down.

i also love the pretty roses in mason jars. those i have a nice collection of so i won't need to go on hunt for them!

oh hello.

well it's me, natalie. this is my first blog post on this blog (obvious, i know). it's not, however, my first blog post ever. when i was in college i started this blog, but my life has changed so drastically since then that i really just wanted to start fresh with a completely new blog. so i'm starting fresh. i'm in a (semi) new city, living a completely new life (which by the way i lovee).

this is just intro. lot's more exciting things to come. hope you stick around. xoxo. natalie
