babe, puppy + cheerios.

Thursday, July 11, 2013
after reading a blog post last night about taking the camera everywhere you go, i woke up feeling inspired and not wanting to miss a thing. baby girl is growing so rapidly, i cannot believe she is closer to 1 than an infant. i know i will blink my eyes and her first birthday will be here. (cue the tears)

slow down clock, will ya?

this morning my girl was in her highchair while i made myself breakfast, and i looked over and scarlett puppy was sitting right next to her on the floor. i couldn't tell if she just wanted to be close to her or if she was secretly hoping to score some delicious gluten-free banana cheerios.

either way, it was a little moment that made my heart swoon. these moments seem to happen pretty regularly these days, and i can't get enough. it's all about the little things. taking in the last few days of her two teeth smile, her tiny baby nose, the way her mouth curves when she says "dadada," and her little laugh that can literally make me melt.

doing laundry.

Wednesday, March 27, 2013
Little S is going through a phase where she doesn't want to be put down. i'm not too upset about it though. i know one day i will wish i could still pick her up, or that she would still let me.

so this is how we do laundry these days. whatever works, right?

lips.

 february 12, 2013

little s has my lips. i love how they curl when she is "talking" to me. i want to remember everything about this first year. one thing i know i will never forget are those sweet little lips.

she is getting so big so fast, and i don't know where the time is going. everyone tells you that, but you don't really comprehend it until you personally experience it for yourself.

one thing is for sure, i am crazy about that little girl.

winter water factory.

Tuesday, March 12, 2013
lately, winter water factory kids clothes have been all the rage. i first heard about their clothes last spring on pinterest, and have been keeping my eyes open for new designs each season. are organic and are made here in the US. they have some of the cutest prints i have ever seen. i ordered SKB several things back in january and am dying to get her some cute things for spring. here are a few of my favorite things from their spring collection:

go see for yourself.

mesmerized.

i never knew that a child would be so mesmerized at such a young age by something. before having a child, husband and i would always look at other kids out in public watching tv on ipads and iphones and vowed that we would not be those parents.

who was i to judge?

when your baby is screaming and will stop in an instant if you put on mickey mouse clubhouse, how do you say no. as a first time parent and a stay at home mom, i was unaware of just how much time i would have to accomplish things. baby girl doesn't always nap + at times she wants to constantly be held. mickey mouse is my savior. i can put on a 20 minutes episode and make my breakfast or lunch, put a load a clothes in and maybe have time to make my bed.

i'm not saying that when she gets older we will let our kids constantly have to be entertained by electronics, but for now, i will let her watch mickey for 20 minutes.

hip headwear.

Monday, March 11, 2013
i just stumbled across the cutest jersey cotton headbands. have you heard of little hip squeaks? they sell hip and modern baby blankets, burp cloths, baby hats, bibs and other gifts made from organic fabric. i just order SKB some that were on sale on brickyard buffalo (another great site if you haven't heard of it) and can't wait to put them in her 1st easter basket.

see more of there cute headbands here

mornings.

Monday, March 4, 2013
the mornings with Little S are our favorite. she wakes up bright eyed and ready to eat. i never realized that i would be so excited to wake up each morning. this morning we woke up and just laid in bed, and looked at our sweet girl. could she be any more perfect? she just has the sweetest little face and features. we are so in love.

as you can see she has found her feet, and her toes are her favorite chew toy as well as her fingers. she's not a thumb sucker yet. she prefers all of them, not just one, haha. with that flexibility it looks like we have a future dancer or cheerleader on our hands.

little love: part two.

here are a few more pictures from the valentine's photoshoot.

Little S had a great first valentine's day. my mother in law (Gigi) came over to watch Sawyer while i tried to get ready for valentine's night. since it was a week night, husband and i decided we would go out on a date saturday so that he could enjoy it more. i did, however, cook dinner thursday and decorate the table.

a lot of people like to complain about the holiday. i, for one, have always enjoyed valentine's. not because i have always had a valentine, but more because i love the colors, hearts, baking, and making little special things for the people i love.

my problem is probably trying to do too many things at once to a point where i get myself overwhelmed. i like to make every holiday perfect to a fault, and having a child has probably made this worse.

overall though, it was another special first for Little S.

little love: part one.

valentine's morning i decided to do a little photoshoot with Little S. i'm in love with how they turned out. just a simple banner i got for a steal at target, my white walls and a couple of baskets. she was a trooper. my secret to get to her to look right at me... put mickey mouse on the iphone and hold it right under the lens. works like a charm.

part two soon to follow.
